“Cabernet Franc has found its natural home in Villány” (Michael Broadbent, Decanter 2000). Intensive on the nose, where the aroma of forest fruit and spices prevails. Intense scent of wild fruit basket and the sensation of spices. Its luscious, captivating flavours are accompanied by notes from the toasting of the oak, with blueberries and raspberries. It is a full-bodied but not cumbersome wine that carries the elegance of the variety. Real Villány wine!

Authentic Traditional Method Sparkling from Paloznak

This is the third vintage of the winery when traditional method bubbles were made, one white from Furmint and one rosé from Kékfrankos. The product line is more and more important, as the winery will open its own sparkling wine cellars in the following years. Furmint is largely used for traditional method s.wines in Hungary, because of its good acidity and neutral taste profile, mostly mineral character, depending on the terroir. Homola’s Furmint vineyards lie on Permian red sandstone and marga, the wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel for 5 months, followed by a long period of bottle ageing.

Our Reserve Brut sparkling wine carries both the exclusivity of traditional sparkling wines and the innovative curiosity of our winery. An exciting specialty that offers a wonderful sight as moonlight pearls in the glass with a yellow colour. In its complex aroma, juicy peaches, pears and citrus appear at the same time, with toasty, mature aromas in the background. Its fruitiness creates harmony with the biscuit flavours, which end with a creamy finish. A real reimagined classic.

AIRY LIGHT

The self-forgetfulness of summer evening parties emerges from all the flavours of our Reserve Brut Nature 2020 Furmint sparkling wine. In its fresh aroma, the toasted bread crust characteristic of traditional sparkling wines appears, which is complemented by Furmint’s citrusy, summer apple notes. Its airy lightness is enriched by bright acids, and the minerality of Somló can be seen in its long aftertaste. A sip is at once refreshing and silky, like the caress of the morning breeze on the way home at the end of a fun night.

Story: INFUSIO has been the name of the wine of special events and feasts on the table of the Archabbey Pannonhalma for centuries. This tradition, reaching back to the Middle Ages, gives even today a contribution to celebrations. We have written records already from the beginning of the 18th century that the Benedictine monks of Pannonhalma divided their wines into three categories: the term “servant-wine” meant the wine obtained from the manorial deliveries; the “convent-wine” was used at the holy masses and served onto the table of the fathers at the meals while the “infusio” referred to the prime category.

The latter did not designate a certain variety but the best quality wine consumed by the members of the order during big celebrations and prominent events served from the bottle into the glasses. This custom explains easily the use of the Latin word “infusio” meaning “infuse”.

Infusio is the red wine of Pannonhalma in Bordeaux style.

Made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prestigious blend of Pannonhalma Archabbey comes from the hottest vineyard. Ripe bramble and cranberry simultaneously appear on the nose, completed by the aroma of vanilla coming from the wooden barrels. The balance of extract sweetness, alcohol and mature tannins results in a mellow taste evoking the concentrated notes of dried sour-cherry and plum as well as coffee and chocolate. It is a serious and elegant wine with Mediterranean notes and a high aging potential.

A wine truly devoted to festive occasions …

We saw our very own Sabar Cabernet Franc grow up and become adult. It was already promising as early as its “newborn” age, and by now this promise has become reality, in a firm and complex body. “Eye catching” overture, sweet barrel spices mixed up with pepper notes and the gentle fruitiness of blackcurrant. Plum seasoned with cinnamon with a touch of chocolate as a reward in the finish.

Harvest: Manual harvest

Technology: Produced with "bâtonnage" technique, which means that the lees are periodically stirred to contribute to a superior full taste.
Available quantity: 600 bottles

Story: This wine is a bâtonnage Chardonnay, but not in the usual way. I like using the technique of stirring the lees, however, I used not only barrel, but stainless steel so that the wine should not be dominated by oak.
