Terroir, vineyard: The Olaszrizing grape for this wine was harvested on Sabar hill, where the estate is situated. "A small hill with great wines" – as the slogan of Sabar Wine House refers to its terroir.

Harvest: In 2024 the harvest started extremely early, on 23 August, about three weeks earlier than usual. Plus, almost all the grapes ripened at the same time, thus this harvest was more than challenging. Strangely enough, the fermentation was slower.

A refreshing, jolly wine that provides you with the necessary stamina for a hike, the obligatory item of every cool backpack, but its consumption without any special reason is absolutely recommended as well. Its moderate alcohol level is just enough to add an extra beat to your day, while the fresh green fruits keep you in a pleasant, vibrant flow. Juicy and pleasantly bitter, sweetish apple pie, uplifting citrus fruits, aftertaste with almond. This wine takes you up the peak!

Cuvée St is a picture-perfect Balaton wine. Crisp, elegant, immersive, carries the flavours of the summer at the Lake. The grapes come from different parts of the Paloznak area, where the soil is mainly composed of the red sandstone typical of the region. From 2023, the vineyards are in the process of organic conversion; the grapes are harvested by hand. The winemaking is natural and modern, what you get from the bottle is nothing but the pure juice of the terroir.

It starts off with vanilla and lots of tropical fruit on the nose, followed by cooler herbal notes, as well as with tertiary aromas of fungus and bread-crust. Full and thick, demonstrating a serious concentration on the palate, with a taste dominated by dried fruit (apricot in the first place), vanilla cream and sweet spiciness – with the latter one to prevail in the finish. A great promise from a specifically „aszús” vintage year.

Harvest: From 18 to 26 August 2018

Vintage: The deliberate work of our viticulture team combined with the dazzling tolerance of our vineyards have overcome not only the early frosts but also the extreme weather anomalies of spring. The divine plant reacted „impatiently” during its development (early flowering and cluster closure), as a result we were able to begin the harvest in mid-August. 2018 is truly exceptional vintage for us: with 100% dry harvest, and the finest botrytised grapes
collected for our sweet wines, a new chapter has begun at HOLDVÖLGY.

The sixth vintage of our estate selection is vibrant and unique. The innocently opening aromas of Williams pear, cedar and quince dazzle us immediately. On the palate its pure and vigorous with pineapple and pink grapefruit notes leading the way to balanced pear flavour. Round, elegantly structured and complex wine with infinite length of flavour.
