Rhein Riesling is a really typical grape variety of the Pannonhalma wine region that also covers the biggest part of the vineyards of the Pannonhalma Archabbey. This wine is defined by the freshness with a dominance of mint leaves and a smooth touch of grape blossoms on the nose, while it is driven by citric aromas ranging from grapefruit to lime on the palate. The slightly full-bodied but still intense and fresh wine has high bottle ageing potential; at the present time, it is a lovely fresh summer wine with the true Riesling structure which will develop and guarantee its quality in the future. It shows the feature that made it one of the most well-known and popular grape varieties of the region.

Close your eyes and taste the wine. You will feel solemn tannins dressed in slivery pastel pink. The playful flavours are like ethereal dancers in feather-light dresses at an elegant ball, with passionate dance partners. Redcurrant, green-fleshed plum, fresh cherry. The base rhythm is given by the lavish acidity and the aftertaste gives to floor to a rounder, kinder tone. Vanilla, clove and a pinch of mischievous pepper. Now you can open your eyes. Oops, the wine has gone, hasn’t it?

The grape for this wine arrived from a 50-year-old southern plantation. Pineapple sweetness, sweet lime, fiery minerality, and a hint of salt. Gorgeous, well-rounded. “Her voluptuous body, bathed in golden light, promises a night of pleasure, yet for some reason you sense you won’t want to part with her even afterward.
Story: When planting this vineyard, a massive drilling machine was a great help of us, since most of the soil is hard, rocky and some of the vines had to be chiselled into the rocky soil literally. Fortunately the plants have survived. Due to the terroir, the wines feature some mireal character even at young age. Wines made of this vineyard have long ageing potential.

Quality level: This wine belongs to the 'Mid range' level, which is always the blending of the best must franctions, in this case exclusively from Kezdet vineyard.
Food pairing: Fish, spicy Asian meat and pasta dishes.

Available quantity: 400 bottles

Retail price: Webshop retail price: 5900 HUF. / Take away retail price in cellar: 5.700 HUF / 16-18 Euros

Story: The labels are designed by one of the owners, Christer Sandahl, and he introduces a new, unique concept year by year, the labels are never repeated. Labels of vintage 2015 are created to express the aromas and flavours during bottling. When Wet stones 2015 was bottled, it reminded us of wet basalt stones indeed. In 2015 high quality botrytis appeared in some of our vineyards, thus our winemaker did not remove the botrytised berries, they add another shade to the colour of this wine.

Imported to: Sweden, Italy

A gold coloured, mineral Rhine Riesling with fabulous aromas resulting from bottle ageing. The minerality coming from volcanic Badacsony mountain is accompanied by notes of ripened summer fruits and citruses. The varietal character is complemented with a hint of botrytis both on the nose and the palate. A harmonious wine easy to love.
