A ’hütte’ is usually a small house in a ski resort where people consume hot drinks – or cold drinks that make them hot. Lajver Wine Estate in Szekszárd wine region (south of Hungary, 2 hours’ drive from Budapest) is famous for its in site parties (their New Year’s Eve party is already sold out). On 18 January Lajver welcomes guests for an unforgettable double event: party dress is needed for the inner heated room, while for the ’hütte’ it is advised to put on ski clothes over the fancy party gear. Swabish burger, rabbit and fish sausage and other street foods are offered, and as for the drinks, besides Lajver wines you can taste the legendary bitter liquor, Unicum and other spirits. The ticket costs 5900 HUF / person (18 euros) and include unlimited consumption of mulled wine. Mulled wine is immensely popular all over Hungary in winter. Usually it is made of red wine and flavoured with orange and lemon peel, clove, cinammon, cardamom, star anise, nutmeg and recently hot chili was added to the usual ingredients.
