“This place means no more to me than the hub of the universe” – says Katalin Tóth, manager of Tóth Ferenc Winery, the founder’s daughter. Katalin and her team was dreaming of a place where winelovers can enjoy the fabulous view of their vineyards, and the members of the winery can tell stories from the life of the estate in a relaxed way.

The dream has come true, the magic is there: ‘Síkhegy’ (literally “Flat Mountain”) awaits guests to gather around the solitary poplar. “The poplar called us” – they say.

“We have imagined what a place would look like underneath, full of loungers, with a pretty well and a big telescope, with soft music, fine wines and some snacks, as we watch the sunset.”

The opening event of this magical place is on 8 August, the event is free, but registration is necessary. Guests will have the chance to taste several award winning wines from Tóth Ferenc Winery – and they have a lot! Just two recent gold medals: the first Egri Bikavér Grand Superior wine of the estate (2016 vintage) has received gold medal at the latest VinAgora International wine competition, while their Egri Kékfrankos Superior 2016 got gold medal at the French Challenge International du Vin in June.
