Dúzsi and Babits wines in New Delhi

Sparkling wine from Tokaj, a rosé made of our indigenous Kékfrankos and another one of Cabernet Franc – showing the potential of the international grape variety in Hungary –, a red blend expressing Szekszárd terroir and certainly the unmissable Tokaji Aszú. The 5 wines to presented by Tamás Dúzsi Jr on 8 December at 1 pm in Delhi, at Vinexpo India will brilliantly reflect the diversity and richness of Hungarian wine scene, even though the wines are from only two wineries.

A legendary rosé

Tamás Dúzsi, the founder of Dúzsi Family Winery has always believed in Kékfrankos variety, his very first 1992 Kékfrankos received gold medal at the National Wine Competition of Hungary. The grape comes from Sióagárd-Leányvár, from a vineyard with loess soil with good water reservoir abilities. Some of the vines are 50 years old, though 2/3 of the vineyard was replanted with 15-year-old vines. Spicy, intense nose abundant in red berry fruits. The palate is complex with a whole basket of sour cherry, vibrant acidity and memorable finish.
