Alcohol content: 11.5%

Acidity: 8.8 g/l

Residual sugar: 176.9 g/l

Vintage: Due to end of September until mid-November the weather was favorably dry and warm for botrytisation. The characteristic of acidity was given a fantastic basis to a birth of a complex botrytised wine. A „Never Seen Before” – balanced, dynamic, smooth and fruity sweet wines are born in this vintage.

Temperature: 11–12 °C

Produced quantity: 10 500 bottles

It starts off with vanilla and lots of tropical fruit on the nose, followed by cooler herbal notes, as well as with tertiary aromas of fungus and bread-crust. Full and thick, demonstrating a serious concentration on the palate, with a taste dominated by dried fruit (apricot in the first place), vanilla cream and sweet spiciness – with the latter one to prevail in the finish. A great promise from a specifically „aszús” vintage year.

Harvest: October 2016

Vintage: After a quiet winter period, a dry and warm spring and rainy days arriving in the middle of the summer we knew that 2016 will be a vintage full of challenges. Harvest started on August 1st, in a parcel of Holdvölgy Cru. The rainy season continued in October, but thanks to the precise year-round viticultural work, we were able to harvest high quality and quantity of bunches both for dry and sweet wines even in this difficult vintage.

Clear, tight late harvest wine, vibrant imprint of this international grape variety and Grand Cru Nyulászó vineyard from a cooler vintage.
Terroir, vineyard: Király (1st class, historically classified cru)

Harvest: September 2019

Vintage: In January we started pruning in the frost, then February begun with a sudden thaw. The spring period also put pressure on the viticulture. Drought in March, rainfalls during late spring, constant wind during warming up and the proliferation of insects all made us face challenges. With our well-thought-out interventions we managed to prevent diseases, so the vineyards could develop perfectly throughout the summer months. Although the warm early autumn days and the constant winds meant further difficulties, 18 days after the start of harvest we could have another 100% dry harvest behind us!

The Holdvölgy’s liquid signature. Its elaboration can be compared to a free style exercise of figure skating. The target: choosing from the historical Tokaj wine-making techniques (Fordítás, Máslás, Szamorodni, Aszú, Essencia) and preparing the most beautiful wine of the vintage, according to Holdvölgy style. Reaching the most dynamic structure possible, with the complexity of an Aszú 5 puttonyos. Fresh and rich Botrytis aromas, lush flavours of honey flowing in it, an excellent sugar-acidity balance, youthful freshness and unforgettable richness of flavours. Its high sugar content accompanied by such acidity is only able to offer so many fruits and aftertaste. It has decades to live!
