Tasting event of ’Csopaki Kódex’ wines
Csopaki Kódex is a relatively new, and relatively strict origin protection system within Balatonfüred–Csopak wine region. Csopak is a village of unique terroirs (with the neighbouring village Paloznak) on the north of Lake Balaton, therefore its producers united to enhance the protection of quality. Each year the wines of Csopak are blind tasted by renowned wine experts to obtain the Csopaki Kódex seal.
This autumn a tasting event is held so that visitors could have a chance to taste new Kódex sealed wines and older vintages as well. Most of the wines are made of Olaszrizing, on the palate they are often mineral, rich, full bodied.
The tasting takes place in the Mayor’s Hall in Paloznak in the afternoon (14.00–18.00) but dinner ticket is available as well (Sáfránkert restaurant) for those who would like to go on tasting with matching food and wine.
The night before one of the region’s best winemaker, István Jásdi welcomes those who would like to have a good discussion with some significant winemakers of Csopak.
