The winemaker’s son gets gold medal

József Bock, founder and owner of Bock Cellar must be very proud now: his son, Valér Bock has been making wines for a while at the family estate, and now his blend, Bock Libra 2015 has received a gold medal at French Citadelle du Vin wine competition. Altogether Hungary received 7 gold medals and 5 silver medals at the contest, at which almost 40 countries participated.

Libra is a Bordeaux blend with Cabernet Franc base (50%). The fruit is from the best vineyards (Fekete mountain, Jammertal, Ördögárok) and in the cellar a barrel selection took place as well, thus this wine is really the best of the best.

“A full-bodied, concentrated wine with an incredible wealth of aroma and depth of flavour. It is characterized by a deeply intense colour verging on black in which tobacco and milk chocolate appear alongside overripe fruit. Alongside the dried fruits, chocolate is a dominant element of its flavour.” It was made for the first time in the year 2000 so happy birthday Libra Cuvée!

If you are a wine writer and blogger and have an article about Cabernet Franc, you still have two days to submit your article and win a wonderful trip to Villány!
