Sir Irsai 2021 – A zesty gentleman

Haraszthy Vineyards is one of the pioneer wineries of Etyek wine region. They have been working for more than two decades, serving the winelovers of the nearby capital Budapest with a good range of wines from the easy going Sir Irsai to the complex, single vineyard wines like Öreghegy, a blend of Chardonnay, Szürkebarát, Királyleányka and Zenit.

Sir Irsai is a blend made of 85% Irsai Olivér and 15% Királyleányka. A bone dry (0.7 g / l residual sugar), refreshing wine with 6 g / l acidity. The nose seduces with Muscat notes typical of Irsai Olivér along with lychee and elderflower. The palate reveals invigorating citrusy notes along with the vibrant acidity. Mr Arnold Schwarzenegger, actor and former governor of California tasted an earlier vintage of this wine and loved it a lot!

Chocolate, Irsai, Malbec

Bolka is a dessert manufacture creating unique bonbons and macarons. As owner Katalin Háfra says “We make sweets in our tiny workshop from the best ingredients, with devotion and attention. Each bit is a piece of heaven.” The result of the new joint venture between Bolka and Haraszthy Vineyards has been available since the end of last year.

The gift box contains Bolka dessert specialties filled with Sir Irsai and Fantástico Malbec cream (Haraszthy Vineyards has a sister estate in Argentina, Fantástico Malbec comes from there, but available in Hungary as well.)
