Technology: Because of the cooler weather in October, grapes reached the winery in a colder state, thus cold maceration was applied to preserve fruitiness. Fermentation with the grape skin took place in a closed tank for 25 days, at 26–28°C, with open, and then with closed pumping over. Malolactic fermentation was performed with the skins, under the pomace cover. Ageing took place in barrique barrels. Barrels: 225-litre barrels made
of Zemplén and Mecsek oak, ages: 30% new, 40% one or two-year-old, 30% older.
The wine was aged in barrels for 13 months.

About the label: We believe wine and art belong together. We asked seven contemporary Hungarian writers and poets to draw inspiration from the premium wines of Vylyan Winery. From the essence of poems and short stories the creating hand conjured up artistic drawings, and we now present the result to the world on the Vylyan bottles. The drawings reflect the soul of the wines on paper, as the artists see them. You can read here the story of Villányi Franc.
