Wine of the Week: Csaba Cuvée

Csaba is an ancient Hungarian name, some claim that the first Csaba was Prince Csaba, son of medieval Attila, the Hun, while according to others Csaba is a name with Turkish origin meaning pastor or gift. Csaba Cuvée absolutely falls into the category of a perfect gift: a Bordeaux blend with two golden medals, one from the most important Hungarian national competition, and one from German Mundus Vini. The wine embodies the mutual work of two generations: Ferenc Vesztergombi (Winemaker of the Year 1993) and Csaba Vesztergombi, his son with international experiences and marketing studies besides a degree in winemaking.

„The flagship wine of our cellar, a typical Bordeaux blend with more or less equal proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. It is made only in exceptional vintages, and we insist on this principle of ours even if painfully long years pass without having the chance to create the wine. We are keen on constant high quality.”

The next event with Vesztergombi: Advent Wine Salon in Pécs, 7 December.

Next year event with Vesztergombi: Borjour Magnum, Budapest, 15 February
