10 moments of 2019 harvest

2019 promises to be a great vintage all over Hungary. Ripened black grapes in the southern regions, botrytis in Tokaj, therefore we have every reason to look forward wines from this lovely year.

  1. Vesztergombi Cellar, Szekszárd

Merlot from Bodzás vineyard. Almost perfect from top to bottom. Healthy, firm berries, matured, pleasant acidity, silky tannins, amazing flavours. True Szekszárd, true Merlot! If we got the same staff every year!

2. TR Winery, Tállya, Tokaj

2019’s vintage must, it will be dry Furmint – see you on the market in 2021!

3. Gere Attila Winery, Villány

Destemmer machine helps a lot, but we are always present to control every moment

4. Vylyan Vineyard and Winery, Villány

Zweigelt is always among the first varieties to pick. Its lovely, spicy notes will flavour our ’Bogyólé’ (’literally ’BerryJuice’ referring Beujolais Nouveau) 2019. Hopefully the wine will be as attractive as this bunch of grape.

5. Babarczi Winery, Pannonhalma

The two guardians, László Babarczi and his dog are watching the harvest.

6. Patricius Estate, Tokaj

Heart warming colours of autumn – it is going to be another good year!

7. Juliet Victor, Tokaj

Can you see this healthy bunch of grapes?

8. Kristinus Wine Estate, South Balaton

9. Taschner Winery and Sparkling Wine House, Sopron

Kanratz vineyard in Sopron – colours of autumn, reflecting the mood of the owner, whose father has just passed away.

10. Dúzsi Family Winery, Szekszárd

Kékfrankos grapes had already been picked (manually of course) when the owner, Tamás Dúzsi celebrated his 70th birthday!
