Visit a local market in Tokaj!

This temporary market has been run for a while, and it is a great success in the historic wine region! Katherin Chapman is mainly the engine behind the market, so read how she describes a market day: „The Tokaj-Hegyalja Market has become a true meeting place for locals and tourists curious about the handmade products brought by 60 local craftsmen and women, the perfect chance to discover the local cheeses and cured meats, jams and honeys, vinegars and oils, (organic) fruits and vegetables, chocolates and homemade cakes just like Grandma used to make… (And often it is a grandma who makes them – and she has very sparkly eyes! As well as all manner of crafts of the highest quality: jewellery, clothes, wooden toys and tools, pottery, soap, – and very much more! Meet local artisans – they really are local. They arrived from around Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County plus a 40km radius, bringing products they have created. It’s a great opportunity to discover the treasures here in the historic Tokaj Wine Region, and meet their skilled creators.”
