Kristinus Sauvignon Blanc: the doctors’ choice
Semmelweis University of Medicine has held its wine selection for the 10th times. The instituion is a 250 year old university, and with their wine selection they aim to support the quality wine production of Hungary. 141 wines entered the competition in 5 categories. International white varieties are especially important in the summer, so here we go: the 3rd best international white according to the professors is Kristinus Sauvignon Blanc Selection 2017, Kristinus Wine Estate, the 2nd best is Hilltop Kamocsay Prémium Sárgamuskotály 2017, and the 1st is Zévé Trilógia III Zöldveltelini from Szivek Winery.
Kristinus Wine Estate in South Balaton wine region is wellknown for its easy drinking, yet outstanding quality wines, including this year’s winner Sauvignon. „Made of ripe berries, the nose and the palate is abundant with exotic fruits, litchi and mango. Fermented and aged in a 500-litre Hungarian oak barrel, thanks to which it has a creamy texture on the palate. A young wine with long ageing potential. Excellent choice to pair with a light salad with rucola.”
