Fresh, new and young – wines and winemakers

What is common in the people in the photo? Yes, they are all young (and charming, but that’s another story). In Budapest a whole wine bar franchise is dedicated to young winemakers – DiVino wine bars sell exclusively wines made by young winemakers. The association of young winemakers is called JUNIBOR, and they conduct tastings occassionally. The next event is a tasting of their new vintage wines (2018),and the location is DiVino Gozsdu in Király street, in the heart of the party district of Budapest. The entrance ticket is only 3000 HUF (10 euros), and you will have the chance to taste wines from for example Zsolt Gere from Villány, Angelika Árvay from Tokaj, Csaba Vesztergombi and Tomi Dúzsi from Szekszárd or Péter Frittmann from Kunság. The aromatic Irsai Olivér grape variety is popular, easy to understand, but to make an elegant, great Irsai is a challenge. Peti Frittmann is an expert of the topic: „The zest of crispy acidity gives the first impression followed by light body low alcohol content. The palate has the same flavours as on the nose. Pleasant finish with green spices and lime. A pronounced, aromatic wine and still great thirst-quenching.”
