Grand Tasting of Eger Wine Workshop
The members of Eger Wine Workshop will present their best wines in a walk around tasting in Eger on 23 October – a great opportunity to taste the best Egri Bikavér wines from 9 different wineries. These producers claim that Eger is one of the best wine regions in the world and they aim not less, but to prove their belief at this event.
Besides the walk around tasting two masterclasses will feature the most exciting wines, so that connoisseurs could get a deeper insight into the fruits of Eger terroir.
‘Old vintage, special wines’ masterclass (16.00–17.00) and ‘Egri Bikavér – the flagship wine of Eger’ masterclass (18.00–19.00) will both feature 10 wines.
Location: St Andrea Winery, Eger
Time: 14.00–21.00
Tickets: 5900 HUF / person (plus masterclasses)

Tóth Ferenc Egri Kékfrankos Superior 2018 – a star of Old vintage masterclass
Grapes for this wine came from Síkhegy vineyard. After fermentation in tank and circular maceration the wine aged in large wooden barrels for 2 years. “A deep-coloured wine with intense aromas. Its aromas are still slow to open, but they are varied. The aromas of blue fruit, cherries and cocoa powder unfold, the slight chocolate finish associated with vibrant acids also shows that there is still plenty of potential in it. “ – description by Adél Bernáth-Ulcz from CsokiLaBor.
The label was inspired by a photo of the towers of Eger rising above the city. The design is made by Bence Fajcsák (Color and Code design), and he recommends to see the label in different light, because it shows different colours for example outside in the sun or inside a room.
