Interior Design of the Year – Kreinbacher Estate, Somló
As hungarianwines.eu wrote earlier in an article, Hungarian winery design has developed significantly recently, and winery buildings perfectly harmonizing with their surroundings are not restricted to our Austrian neighbours any more, Hungary can boast with several breathtaking constructions.
An award of interior design has been given to the best architect for the 18th time this year. The professional jury has inspected 17 competitions looking for the most creative solutions with outstanding designers’ work.
Szilvia Lőrincz and András Mikics, architects of Biva Inspiration have been given the precious prize for their twin job of creating the interior of Kreinbacher Estate in Somló including the tasting lounge, the bistro restaurant and the guest rooms along with the task of creating the meeting rooms and tasting saloon of the same estate in the capital of Hungary, Budapest, in the wonderful historic building of Palazzo Dorottya.
Dr. József Finta architect, the chairman of the jury said at the ceremony that the desicion had been obvious, the members of the jury had agreed, because the two works of Szilvia Lőrincz and András Mikics had been „modern, up to date, absolutely contemporary, and at the same time also human, where it is great and enjoyable to be, to live, to exist – and this is the main goal of interior design”.
Besides „existing” in this award winning interior in Somló, you can taste amazing méthode traditionelle sparkling wines, fresh and long aged terroir white wines and also stunning red wines (which are extremely rare in Somló).
