Lajver Rosé, Szekszárd – the perfume of winelovers
The state-of-art wine estate in the picturesque valley of Lajvér stream has released its first premium rose – in an attractive bottle. Blend of 58% Syrah and 42% Kékfrankos for which the team selected the best bunches manually. The wines fermented and matured (for 6 months) in stainless steel tank separately, and the aim of the blending was to find the outmost harmony. Elegant pink with some orange shade. Good intensity on the nose with lovely ripened, red fruit. A basket of sun kissed cherries a raspberries. Good balance, medium plus acidity. Full bodied, delicious, juicy, stunning rosé with a little carbon dioxide.

Vylyan Rozé Variáció 2020, Villány – a serious dining partner
Like a man who wears pink shirt, charming with a cheerful style but also elegant and masculine. This blend made hand harvested, carefully selected Syrah (89%) and Kékfrankos (11%). After gentle pressing fermentation took place at low temperature with organic yeast. The fermented wine was then divided into to parts: the majority (70%) spent 5 months on the lees in stainless steel tank, while the rest matured in second use Hungarian oak barrel. The label was designed by the famous French graphic designer from Bordeaux, Bernard Penalba. Long time ago he designed the logo of Vylyan Vineyard and Winery, and now the result of the joint venture is elegant again. As for the wine: it is a food, pardon, wine for thought. Peach, raspberry and flowers on the nose, creamy texture, mild oaky-buttery tones and a touch of minerality. A perfect partner of light dinners – chef József Bernáth recommends it to pair with shrimp risotto with green asparagus.

Heimann Mammaróza, 2020, Szekszárd – a loving mother
This wine is not a new release, just a new vintage, but at a recent tasting we loved it so much that we must introduce it to our readers. A blend of Kékfrankos, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Syrah. The family estate describes the story of the wine as follows: “The name was inspired by our Mater Familiae, Rózsi mama. This wine is just as lively and welcoming as she is. Our preference is for more substantial, complex rosés so MammaRóza is always a blend of several varieties. Low temperature settling is followed by controlled fermentation. After 3-4 months of ageing in steel tanks it is bottled at the beginning of the following year.”
A rosé that needs some time to reveal its enchanting aromas, but it is absolutely worth waiting. Red berry fruits, mainly sour cherry and raspberry. Mouth filling, vivacious wine with vibrant acidity. Citrusy, pleasantly tart, thirst quenching rosé with a decent, long aftertaste. A wine that makes you stay and “crave for some more summer wine”.
