Story
At Somló, they would get rid of the rumor, but in the eyes of the wine lovers, Juhfark is the wine of wedding nights. There is a strong belief that Juhfark is the wine that was produced in the 18th century. century, male members of the Habsburg ruling house consumed it to maintain their masculinity. Last but not least, the generation of male offspring was tied to this wine: if they drank a good Somló wine on the wedding night, they were more likely to apply for a male offspring. After the Habsburgs, several European ruling houses believed in this, and there are no rumors about how successful they were. The exclusivity of sheep’s tail is questioned in the story by the fact that Somló wine used to be a blend in which many grape varieties were harvested together.
