The finalists of the Most Beautuful Vineyard Award

Agrotrend group has been organizing the award for the fourth time to select the best examples of agricultural enterprises. The professional jury has selected the finalists in each category, in vineyard–winery category the following three estates have the chance to win: Vesztergombi Cellar (Szekszárd), Tornai Winery (Somló) and Bodri Winery (Szekszárd). And not only them, but wine tourists can also win – if they visit these spectacular estates.

Vesztergombi – no visit without personal guiding

If you book a winery tour at the Vesztergombis, you can be sure that either the owner, Ferenc Vesztergombi, or his son, Csaba will conduct the tasting. Csaba is an ever-active, experimenting young winemaker with full respect for the family traditions. The estate is picturesque indeed, outside and inside, just look at the arches in the spacious cellar, the lavanders around the house or the vines in the vineyards on the best slopes of Szekszárd wine region.

Tornai – maxi respect for nature

Tornai is also a family winery led by Tamás Tornai in Somló wine region. The estate uses as little chemicals as possible – remember, Somló will be the first, fully organic wine region in Hungary. Tornai installed an electric car refill station, they have a set of bicycles to rent (though to ride up the mountain you need stamina…) and they run a restaurant with a wine terrace. The estate boasts countless award winner wines, and they are also offer great price-value entry level wines. So many reasons to visit them!

Bodri – a winery complex

Again a Szekszárd winery, whose estate was completely renewed a few years ago. Guest houses, restaurant, grill terrace, wine shop – Bodri Winery is absolutely prepared for wine tourists, plus its huge venues are suitable for events as well.

Whichever estate of the above three will win the award in September, it will deserve it.
