The Pinot Noir of VinAgora wine contest
The international wine competition called VinAgora is organized annually in Hungary and has announced its results, though the champion awards are still to be announced (on 25 April at VinCE Budapest Wine Show). The 20th anniversary of VinAgora brought a record-high number of registrations: 643 wines entered from 17 countries. If at least 15 samples of a given varietal are entered, then among the gold-medal-winning wines of the given varietal, the sample with the highest score receives the “Best Hungarian Varietal Wine of VinAgora”title, and the winners of this title have already been made public. The Best Pinot Noir of Hungary comes from Etyek, Haraszty Winery, and the award proves the fact that Pinot Noir can give stunning wines in this wine region. „Cherry color. Primal fruitiness on nose, accompanied by some roasted scent. On the palate besides the sour cherry you will find the presence of chocolate, tobacco and bold notes produced by barrel ageing. Aftertaste is medium-long, spicy.”
