Wine of the Weekend – Optimum Brut

A long weekend in Hungary (yesterday was the anniversary of 1956 Revolution, the most significant revolt against the communist oppression), but it is also the weekend of clocks change in Europe. We can sleep an hour more on Sunday, but as a consequence sunset comes earlier. Several arguments for a glass of bubbly…

Optimum Brut is one of the most important label of Vencel Garamvári,founder of Garamvári Vineyards. Vencel has always had a passion for champagne, thus he dedicated his life to create the elegance of the great French sparkling wines in his wines. Countless accolades have proved him right. (He was Winemaker of the Year, also won Winery of the Year and just the latest great acknowledgement went to his winemaker, Péter Baranyai, who is The Most Successful Young Winemaker of the Year).

The origin of the name is easy to guess: the wine is an “optimum” blend of the top varietals, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc. “Fruity taste – cavalcade. Dense perlage, fine acids, fresh citruses, white peach, litchee, pineapple welcomes us at tasting. Alongside the fruits the creamy effects of autolyses, the bouquet of frech pastry makes the perfect meeeting with this sparkling.” Recommended for amicable friendly chats, with white and red poultry, frutti di mare, but it matches well to almost all dishes.
