10 m3 rubbish picked by Sopron winemakers

Kurt Taschner winemaker in Sopron wine region has recently posted some shocking photos of car tyres, toys, broken TVs and even a sofa– all collected in the vineyards of Sopron. As he reported, winemakers were fed up with the rubbish left illegally in the vineyards, and a team of 25 enthusiastic winemakers led by Ottó Németh and Tamás Varga cleared all the vineyards of rubbish. The employees of the town’s corresponding departmert also helped them. The vineyards are clean and neat now, and Kurt Taschner asks visitors to pay more attention so that the wonderful wine region of Kékfrankos could remain as neat as it is now. Sopron is always worth visiting, the town has a wonderful historic downtown, and Tascher Wine House and Sparkling Cellar is also situated within the town, within easy walking distance from the centre. Kurt Taschner offers tastings at his wine house, a so called ’Poncichter Tasting’ for example includes 6 wines with tutored tasting, water and bread with oil, it costs only 2600 HUF (8 euros). Advanced booking is necessary, but visitors can just pop in for a glass of wine every weekday from 8 am to 6 pm. Kurt Taschner will also present his wines at the 2nd Hungarian Gettogther in Mór on 16 August.
