Leading Tokaj winery awaits guests for a whole day program. Morning walk with picnic, portfolio tasting at 13.40, Tokaji Aszú tasting with special Aszú wines from the past 20 years, guitar music, children’s corner, photo exhibition, great food (provided by ‘Szomszéd’ restaurant). Sparkling Picnic with Patricius Winery
How to start a lovely, sunny October Saturday? With a good walk – but not too exhausting, with good company, delicious home made food and stunning bubbles. Patricius awaits guests for a brunch on the picturesque Várhegy hill. The program includes a winery visit with gravity system, guests can see the collection of soils and stones, a display of Tokaj grape varieties, the cellar museum and the ageing cellar.

Patricius Brut – a proper picnic treat
The bottle fermented sparkling wine is made of 100% Furmint. A terroir sparkling wine made by traditional method shows the characteristics of the volcanic Tokaj soil. After ageing for more than 3.5 years in bottle it was disgorged in small lots. “Due to the characteristics of the vintage, in 2016 we decided to produce our Brut from Furmint. The grape was harvested from Várhegy and Sajgó vineyards. Fresh, well structured sparkling wine with elegantly restrained notes of flowers, citruses and green apple in the nose. On palate in brings fine bubbles with creamy tastes of the bottle ageing and the minerality. A complex sparkling wine with elegance, nicely showing the skills of the terroir.”
