The Crown of Tokaj at ProWine China

The grandiose Asian wine exhibition is coming closer (12–14 November), and though this year fewer Hungarian wineries will participate, Tokaj will be represented. What is more, the winery exhibiting in Shanghai is Juliet Victor, the one which arrived in the world of wine like a shiny comet. The first bottles were released only last year, but since then they have been enriched with serious acknowledments like double gold at Japanese Sakura award, platinum award at Decanter World Wine Award and goldmedal at International Wine Challenge. While these acknowledgements were received by JV Szamorodni 2016, JV dry Furmint wines are also fabulous. Tamlyn Currin wine writer wrote on www.jancisrobinson.comabout single vineyard JV Betsek Furmint 2017: „A hint of cobblers glue on the nose, but it seems to heighten rather than detract from the intense ripe-apricot aroma. Salty, concentrated, like fruit leather. Full of cumin and caraway spice. Seems more linear and focused in one direction than the Király. Fantastic food wine. Buzzing with character.”
