The best 24 Hungarian wines of the Circle of Hungarian Winewriters are announced! The so called Super 12 white and red wines are selected during a rigorous procedure, thus the prize has high prestige.

Winewriters are usually pampared: they are invited to countless tastings and are welcome in every events. Certainly the number of tasted samples annually are high in case of professional journalists, so if a wine emerges from their huge basket, it must be more than exceptional. The Circle of Hungarian Winewriters have organized the contest for the 4th time. In the first round members nominate wines from the previous five vintages, then the wines collecting the most nominations will make the two lists of Super 12. These wines are tasted by the winewriters in two commitees, twice. This editition’s tasting took place in December in Fill the Winebox winebar. The double list contains wines from 14 wine regions, 5 wines were made in Villány, 4 comes from Szekszárd, while Balatonfüred-Csopak, Eger, Etyek and Tokaj are represented by 2 wines each. The winner of the white flight is Szászi Estate Szigligeti Kabócás Olaszrizling 2015 from Badacsony wine region, while the best of the best red wines is Tiffán’s Pincészet Grande Selection 2015 from Villány.
