Best Buy Sauvignon Blanc for September

The wine with the highest store in VinCE Magazine latest issue is Sky, a Furmint made by Kovács Nimród Winery in Eger. We have already written about this amazing wine, which seems to be a “mega hit” this year. And right after Sky there is a Sauvignon Blanc with almost the same score – and at a price of only 1190 HUF (3.3 euros)! The wine comes from Mór, the second smallest wine region of Hungary, and the producer is a relatively young winery called Paulus Wine House. The owner, Pál Molnár left behind his business career in Switzerland to pursue his passion. It seems to be rewarding! “Pale yellow colour. Green apple and gooseberry notes typical of the Sauvignon Blanc grape with good intensity, plus some minerality. Vibrant acidity, steely structure, citrusy flavours on the palate. Subtle goosberry in the aftertaste” –say the judges of the wine magazine.
