Berliner Wine Trophy Summer Tasting 2025

The results of the OIV patronaged Berliner Wine Trophy Summer Tasting are available. At this session Hungary is the 5th on the medal ranking with 81 medals after Italy (327 medals), Germany (286 medals), Spain (17) and France (107). Our country collected 3 Grand Gold medals – all for Tokaji Aszú wines –, 54 gold medals and 24 silver medals. Feind Magaspart 2024 from Balaton is probably one of the best price-ratio gold winners for only 4.45 EUR in retail!

Feind is a family winery on the north shore of Lake Balaton with undoubtedly one of the most up-to-date equipment in the state-of-the-art estate building. They have a wide range of wines including fresh, easy-going white and rosé wines, barrel aged whites, varietal and blended red wines, a fabulous late harvest wine and several bubblies, both aerated and bottle fermented.

Magaspart means ‘high shore”, and it refers to the highest viewpoints of Lake Balaton near Feind Winery. It is a white blend made of Sauvignon Blanc, Irsai Olivér, Olaszrizling and Chardonnay, and it is a wine made for the German Lidl supermarket chain. The 2022 vintage of this wine got bronze medal at Decanter World Wine Awards, praising its freshness: “Intense citrusy aromas on the nose. Textural palate, chewy and vibrant, very refreshing long finish.” As the Berliner gold proves, the 2024 vintage is even better and its price is word champion!

Feind wine bar – the first stop to Lake Balaton

Find winery is located at the east corner of Budapest, in Balatonfőkajár, which means that this estate is the first one if you are driving from Budapest (92 km). At Feind wine store the whole range of Feind wines is available, while in the wine bar guests can taste the wines with cheese or ham platters. The wine bar can seat 40 people ideal for smaller events, gatherings. From spring to autumn, the terrace is also available. Guests are welcome to taste wines and enjoy the atmosphere without prior reservation.
