Sopron wines go to Kecskemét
Kurt Taschner, Sopron wine region’s emblematic winemaker held a tasting in the city of Kecskemét, at Koch Wine Shop. The tasting was a great success, and the diverse portfolio of the young and ambitious winemaker fascinated by the participants. His méthode traditionelle Chardonnay sparkling wine was a great start followed by several authentic wines, for example his new vintage Zenit, which – according to Attila Rajnai editor in chief reporting on the tasting – is probably the best Zenit of Hungary. Easy to drink, yet complex, juicy. And why were Taschner wines presented in Koch WIne Shop, a shop owned by a „competitor”? Csaba Koch has created his shop first and foremost to provide his fans with Koch wines, and also to promote his wine region, Hajós–Baja. However, he is smart enough to realise that the widest his sortiment is, the most attractive the shop will be for customers. The wine shop offers around 300 wines from more than 30 Hungarian winemakers, e. g. Frittmann from Kunság region, Bock from Villány or the above mentioned Taschner from Sopron. What’s more, all the wines are sold at ex cellar prices. There are 3 more shops in Hungarian cities of Pécs, Szeged and Baja.
