Grand Tasting in the „royal city” of Hungary

Székesfehérvár, the 9th largest city of Hungary used to have a special role in the Middle Ages: the city was the coronation place of the legendary kings. Fehérvár – the colloquial name of the city – only 40 minutes drive from Budapest is a busy city now as well. The Grand Tasting of Fehérvár will be organized for the 4th time on 12 January, and it will showcase more than 110 wines from 23 wineries. Fehérvár is the centre of Fejér county, where Mór wine region and part of Etyek–Buda region is located, Pannonhalma wine region is also nearby, so these regions are certainly represented (Etyeki Kúria, Babarczi Winery, Geszler Winery), but farther wine regions will also be displayed like Frittmann (Kunság), Borbély (Badacsony), Koch (Hajós–Baja), Zsirai (Tokaj). Babarczi Winery from Pannonhalma will pour a whole range of their new vintage wines, for example thei Chardonnay, Irsai Olivér and Rosé. Babarczi Rose 2018 has a lovely, light pink colour, its refreshing nose is full of strawberry, and its palate has flavours reminiscent of citrus fruits. The vivid acidity of this rosé enables it to pair well with food. For tickets and more information contact Viktória Fáncsi (Barrique Borklub), the chief organizer of the event
