Sommeliers’ heaven this weekend in Budapest

Not many people know that a sommelier’s profession is much more than recommending wine at guests’ table. A good sommelier is responsible for all the drinks of a restaurant, he manages stock and increases turnover.  A good sommelier should have a deep knowledge of not only wines, but coffée, tea, spirits and coctails as well. In Budapest there is an annual exhibition called KávéBár Bazár (CofféeBar Bazaar) which showcases the latest trends of the drinks’ trade. Barista and bartender events will also take place at the event which is organized in Millenáris Park on 9-10 February. Some wineries will also pour their wines, for example Csányi Winery from Villány. The winery owns the most parcels in the most important vineyards of Villány. At KávéBár visitors will have a chance to taste a good selection of their portfolio: Teleki Villányi 2,5 bar Gyöngyöző Rosé Cuvée 2018 (an areated sparkling wine), Teleki Selection Villányi Kékfrankos 2015, Chateau Teleki Villányi Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, Kővilla Válogatás Villányi Franc 2015 KOPÁR. The latest project of the winery, a super elegant, ethereal, fruity bottle fermented sparkling wine, Teleki Tradíció 1881 Pinot Noir Rosé Brut 2016 will also be avaiable. The name of this sparkling wine commemorates the foundation of the winery by the world famous viticulturist, Zsigmond Teleki.

Tickets cost 3500 HUF (11 euros)
