Sauska about the recent success
“It is a great pleasure for us to announce that Sauska sparkling wines returned home with multiple medals from the 10th Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships! This prestigious race is the world’s most influential sparkling wine competition, for which almost 1,000 sparkling wines were entered from 19 countries.
This year, Sauska Brut Magnum NV repeated its success and received a gold medal, while Sauska Extra Brut 2016 won a silver medal.
The jury awarded two interesting characters from us this year. We knew that our Brut Magnum can always show something new in terms of complexity and elegance, the secret of this in the case of non-vintage sparkling wines is the reserve wine, to which is very much our focus. And for our 2016 Sauska Extra Brut is a huge recognition for Tokaj, because this wine is a blend of 100% native grapes, Furmint and Hárslevelű. It only adds to its beauty that it has been on the lees for more than five years, a noble and mature wine – pointed out winemaker Ádám Hanusz of Sauska Sparkling Wine Cellar Budafok.”
