Hungarian food and wine trade show in Manchester on 10 April

“The first event of its kind, the professional tasting will unite food producers and winemakers to introduce members of the North East’s vibrant independent retail and HoReCa sectors to the best Hungarian products available in the UK” – comments Dr. Monika Gyenes, owner of Best of Hungary introducing the spring trade event. More than 20 wineries will pour their wines with a focus on indigenous varieties and styles, while foodies can pamper themselves with delicacies like black truffle, goose liver and mangalitza. Certanly, the obligatory, original Hungarian paprika will be available as well along with our high-quality fruit spirit, the Pálinka.

“Over 20 winemakers will bring their selected bottles, with a focus on the unique wine specialities of Tokaj and the famous Bikavér (Bull’s Blood) red blend, but most native Hungarian grapes will be represented. The lineup will include multiple Decanter World Wine Award-winner winemakers and their decorated vintages, as well as easy-drinking essentials, with something available for everyone, proving that Hungarian wine is the best-kept secret in the ‘Old World’.
Expert-led Masterclasses and roundtable discussions will run throughout the day, allowing attendees to delve deeper into some of the wine regions and styles. Meanwhile, food and wine pairing and cocktail-making demonstrations will provide practical ideas for turning exhibited products into valuable additions to any range, relevant to customers who are looking for the best quality or new experiences.
Producers making traditional pálinka, as well as trendy gins and spirits will also be in attendance, providing a comprehensive view of the rich tapestry of Hungarian alcoholic drinks.
The cream of Hungarian food producers will take visitors on a mouth-watering journey through the country’s distinguished culinary heritage. A variety of gourmet delicacies, including black truffle, caviar, goose liver, unique mangalitza charcuterie and cheese, will be accompanied by and Great Taste Award-winning ingredients and pantry staples like paprika from the PDO Szeged region, as well as the finest single-flower honey and cold-pressed oils. Guests will get to sample treasured “Hungarikums”, which are distinct products recognised for their quality & uniqueness, as well as innovative ingredients, for a delicious overview of what this gastronomically mighty country has to offer.”
