Béres Winery
Motivated by the love of Tokaj and its wines, in 2002 the Béres family decided to create a 45 hectare estate in the heart of the Tokaj Wine Region. The plantations are based on the local white grape varieties, most importantly furmint and hárslevelű.
Our aim from the beginning was to create high-end wines based on local tradition and modern technology. In our portfolio the lighter wines and the heavier, oak aged wines are also represented. With our wines we would like to show why Tokaj is so special and would also like to express the terroir where the vineyards are situated. On average, our estate produces 150.000 bottles of premium quality wine annually. With this output our winery is regarded as one of the most prominent premium wineries of the region. We won over 130 national and international awards in the last decade. In 2015 our estate was elected “The Most Beautiful Vineyard of Hungary”.

Wines

Béres Tokaji Sárgamuskotály 2017
Intense, yellow colour with a nose typical of the grape variety: cheerful notes of grape flower and elderflower plus apricot and pear. The palate is equally fresh with the bouquet. The light body is in balance with the alcohol content, and its vivaciousness is provided by the vibrant acids. These acids are characterized by fresh flavours reminding us of citrus fruits and green apples, which are nicely added to the notes discovered on the nose. A truly refreshing wine.

Béres Tokaji Naparany Cuvée 2016
Deep yellow colour. Its intense, layered nose captures us immediately with peach, honey and toasty notes. The palate is also full of intense spices and fruity notes of yellow flesh fruits. The acids give an ample backbone to the wine even though it is full bodied with accordingly higher alcohol. Its impressive character is outstanding because we can detect some subtle tones of bottle ageing as well. Multi-faceted wine developing beautifully.

Béres Tokaji Lőcse Furmint Selection 2015
Intense yellow colour. When smelling into the glass, we can discover toasted notes from barrel ageing besides fruity notes of yellow flesh fruits. Apple, apricot, peach together with vanilla and other spices provide a complex and layered palate. This single vineyard Furmint is characterized by unique minerality and vibrant acidity. A full bodied, developed wine with serious complexity and depth. Long lingering finish.

Béres Tokaji Magita Cuvée 2016
Pale golden colour with nose reminiscent of dried apricot, orange and herbs. When tasting this late harvest wine made of classic Tokaj varieties, we will find the same rich honeyed-fruity character discovered on the nose. All of these notes are made even more complex thank to the sweetness of residual sugar and the oily texture. The vibrant acids contribute to the layered, exciting structure. Long finish with spices and grapefruit notes. An integrated, “round” wine.

Béres Tokaji Aszú 5 puttonyos 2011
Golden colour, incredibly concentrated, intense bouquet. It is worth aerating in the glass for a while so that it can open after so many months spent in barrel and in bottle. Giving it time, we can experience the different notes coming from the glass, one after the other: honey, spices and roasted nuts. On the palate we can realize that – due the vintage – acids make it vibrant even tough it has a significant sugar content. We can detect the aromas resulted from maturation as well: date, candied citrus fruits, autumn leaves and spices fill the mouth. A wine for special occasions.
