Picnic & guided vineyard tour by Patricius
Patricius Winery offers an unforgettable picnic any time of the week, any time of the summer. We tried it once with our study tour guests, and we can guarantee that this picnic is the best – and most delicious way – to discover a vineyard.
Várhegy vineyard in Bodrogkisfalud has been considered one of the most precious vineyards of Tokaj wine region for centuries. One of the most sought after “cru” has several stories and many noble families are related to it. The vineyard tour begins at the picturesque terrace of Patricius Winery, where guests receive their picnic baskets full of products from local producers (strawberry jam artisan cheeses from Zemplén, smoked ham, home-made sausage, avocado cream, salami, spicy cottage cheese spread, cracklings spread, local bread and croissant). Certainly, other Patricius wines are also provided according to the guests’ wishes.

Part of the tour is to introduce the different types of soils and volcanic rocks, which result distinct notes in the wines. “During this tour we tell the story of our 7 vineyards and our winery and give insight into the rich history of Tokaj.”
