Story:  Egri Csillag means ‘The Stars of Eger’. On Nagy-Eged hill and its surroundings stood the watchmen’s huts. According to the description of Frigyes Türk these huts were lit by torches at night to make the territory visible. Therefore, the night glittering light of the huts had both the function of defence and road sign. At that time, the following phrase came into use: If you travel to Eger, just follow the glittering stars of Eger…”
Egri Csillag is the white counterpart of Egri Bikavér, a superior quality blend from Eger, the winery’s aim was to produce an elegant, serious, substantial wine with long ageing potential. It faithfully reflects the face of the Eger Wine Region, with its cool climate, beautiful ripeness and fissured acidity in a deep, layered wine.

Description

A wine with a shiny straw yellow colour and an intense bouquet. Honey, orange blossom, pineapple and a hint of fresh quince are on the nose. On the palate starts with good acidity, yellow apple-citrus and lively flavours. The finish is rounded off by fruity notes and a touch of silky-honey sweetness. A fine, fresh wine with a long finish.
