Run in fancy dress and refresh with rosé!

The annual rosé marathon in Villány is not a real marathon: the distance is much shorter and participants must wear something pink. The race is held on the second day of the annual Villány Rosé Festival (13–14 July).The distance is only 3 kilometres, and speed does not count, however creative costumes are much apprciated: the runner with the most creative dress will receive a 2 night stay in Diófa Panzió (Walnut Tree Guest House) run by Gere Tamás and Zsolt Winery along with a 3 bottle rosé wine selection. The most creative running groups and kids are also evaluated. The Rosé Festival is itsell worth visiting: free concerts, exhibitions, cooking shows, ’Stifolder’ salami contest, and 23 exhibiting wineries for example Bock, Csányi, Gere Attila, Sauska.The event website is in Hungarian, if you need help, contact us. One of the rosés you must taste is Kisasszony (’Miss’) by Zsolt Gere, son of Tamás Gere. Made of 100% Kadarka, this rosé has a pronounced spicy character with red berry fruit aromas only in the background. Nice acidity, long finish – a joyful wine for the hot summer.
