“Smashing wines!” – says Oz Clarke after his visit in Hungary
As Phoebe French of The Drinks Business says – one of the experts who spent a week in Hungary with the help of the Hungarian Tourism Agency, arranged by Wines of Hungary – “we were not hungry in Hungary”. Sebastian Payne MW, Caroline Gilby MW, Anthony Rose, Oz Clarke and other experts had a busy week to visit four wine regions, several wineries, plus participate in a grand tasting in Budapest. Oz Clarke started his career as an actor, and he left the stage for his wine career, though being watched has remained a vital part of his life, just think of the BBC series Oz and James’s Big Wine Adventure. And, was he happy with the wines he had tasted in Hungary? Well, “really delightful acidity”, “mouthwatering”, “fresh and juicy wines” – yes, he was! Watch him talking about his experiences:
