International Wine Challenge claims to one of the most rigorous contests, and indeed it is. This year Hungary has gained 1 gold medal, 12 silver medals and 11 bronze medals. The highest score was 95 points, given to Tornai Top Selection Apátsági Furmint 2021. Taste it at the best place, on the terrace of Tornai restaurant and enjoy the gorgeous view of volcanic Somló!

Wine terrace and restaurant

Somló is an ideal place for beginner hikers, the mountain is not high, yet you will get the great feeling of achievement on the top. And then you can get the reward or refreshment – some chilled, crispy, juicy wine. Tornai wine shop with a terrace is open every day from 10.00 to 18.00, while the restaurant is open at the weekend: on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11.00 to 20.00. The restaurant offers refreshing summer dishes, like the creamy zucchini soup with grated parmesan, and some evergreen favourites, like the plate in our cover photo: breaded pork ribs with fried potatoes
