Trick or treat for adults
Tutti and Frutti are two new labels of Grand Tokaj, the largest wine estate in Tokaj wine region. The winery boasts several international accolades for their top wines, for instance the latest one came from Decanter World Wine Award. 2013 vintage late harvest Grand Tokaj received gold medal (96 scores). “Expressive nose of orange peel, burnt orange, intense citrus flavours and tropical fruit. The palate is rich and dense yet fresh and harmonious, textured” – says Decanter team about the dessert wine (with 45 g/l residual sugar). However, the estate is a master of entry level wines as well. The two new wines, Tutti and Frutti are ideal to “convert” a young adult to become a winelover.
Dry Tutti and semi sweet Frutti
Both wines are made of grapes harvested in 2019 early September. Tutti is made of the three typical Tokaj grapes: Furmint, Hárslevelű and Sárgamuskotály (Muscat Lunel). It has a small amount of residual sugar (4.7 g/l) just to make it more “amiable”. Refreshing and juicy with citrus fruits and white flesh fruits. A hint of perfume coming from Muscat Lunel.
Its pair, Frutti is made of Furmint and Sárgamuskotály, lusciously fruity, a juicy refreshment with 35.4 g/l residual sugar – ideal with fruity desserts.
For both wines grapes were processed quickly and the juice fermented in stainless steel tanks to capture the fruity flavours of the healthy, juicy berries.
And something else: the price of Tutti and Frutti is absolutely reasonable! Retail price is around 4 euros / bottle – a bargain compared to amount of sunshine you can taste.
So while the kids are enjoying their treats of candies on Halloween, parents can have some other treats – without any tricks.
