Etyek is the “vineyard of Budapest”, since it takes only 30–40 minutes from the capital to get to the centre of Etyek–Buda wine region. Lovely old and modern cellars await visitors, for example on top of Öreghegy (‘Old Hill’) you won’t believe your eyes: a state-of-art winery, an atmospheric steak house with a large terrace and pool gives striking contrast to the rustic old cellars on the way. Matador, the steak house was renewed last year, and it opens for the season on the 15th March.
