5 exhibitors from Winelovers X not to miss
Taste the brand new Pet-Nats from Steigler Cellar, Sopron
The organic winery has received countless great acknowledgements recently, their organic Grüner Veltliner has been selected the best of the grape variety at Winelovers Wine Awards last year, and their red wines are also gorgeous. Also, do not miss Steigler Siller, a dark pink wine with longer skin maceration made of Zweigelt grape. A true summer wine abundant in cherry and sour cherry and features a touch of plum as well. A novelty is the Steigler Pet-Nat both in white (Grüner Veltliner) and rosé (Pinot Noir).
New design, the same, high standards: Tornai Winery, Somló
The family winery from the volcanic Somló wine region has brought several IWC Trophies and other prestigious acknowledgements to Hungary. Recently the whole design has been renewed keeping some traditional elements in modern format. The facade of the 18th century Tornai mansion gives the shape to the labels, and the hawk motif of the original logo is used, but in a fresher, more moden way. Single vineyard wine made of the indigenous Juhfark grape is a must! Also, do not miss their Olaszrizling and Hárslevelű wines.
Wines from Antinori–Mazzei’s Hungarian headquarters – Tűzkő Estate, Tolna
“Two renowned Italian wine people: Marchese Piero Antinori and Marchese Jacopo Mazzei, who have been closely related to the world of wine for generations through their family traditions, discovered the potential of Tűzkő estate situated between the hills of Tolna, in the vicinity of Szekszárd wine region.” Tűzkő Estate has also undergone a redesign recently, the result is a set of beauties, just look at their Rhine Riesling label! “Straw yellow in the glass, the bouquet is pleasing with lively sensations of tropical fruit, limes, lemons, peaches, and floral notes. The palate is fresh, well-balanced, and defined by excellent structure and a lengthy finish. Ideal to pair with Asian cuisine, goat cheese, and seafood dishes, in particular shrimp or smoked salmon.”

Kszí, the song of a bubbly by Vylyan Vineyard and Winery from Villány
Kszí is a refreshing summer sparkling wine of the iconic Vylyan Vineyard and Winery made of Pinot Noir. “Bright orange-purple colour. Clear nose with good intensity featuring ripened cherry, sour cherry and raspberry. Quite a lot of bubbles – all well integrated. Good balance, well made, easy drinking aerated sparkling wine with red berry fruits on the palate.” (Review by László Romsics). Kszí, the name refers to the sound of a sparkling wine when we open the bottle. Also do not miss the best Kékfrankos of Hungary! Vylyan Kékfrankos has just been selected the Best Kékfrankos of Hungary at VinAgora international wine contest.
The different shades of Furmint – Zsirai Winery, Tokaj
Zsirai is a true family winery launched by the father, run by Zsirai sisters now with Kata controlling the winemaking and Petra in charge of marketing with her husband, Máté, and the mother doing all the paperwork. The winery has vineyards in three wine regions: Tokaj, Somló and Villány. The centre is in Mád, in the most recognised village of Tokaj wine region. With Zsirai you can taste Furmint varietal wines from three different vineyards (‘crus’): Betsek, Középhegy and Szent Tamás, and the same refers to their Hárslevelű wines. A sophisticated journey in a historic wine region through the glasses.
