Summer wines recommended by the sommelier champion
Dubicz Sauvignon Blanc from Mátra
Mátyás Szik Hungarian sommelier champion (he won 3 times, thus holds the “forever champion” title) recommends some summer wines available at Aldi supermarket chain. As he comments, they are ideal as a spritz (‘fröccs’) in the heat of the summer. “The good ‘fröccs’ has to be made of good base wine“ – says Mátyás and we agree. One of the wines he recommends comes from volcanic Mátra wine region, let us introduce it!
Dubicz Sauvignon Blanc 2021 from Mátra
Our largest mountainous wine region, Mátra is a land of great aromatic wines (and much more). Dubicz Winery and Vineyard is a family winery with great quality entry level wines and fabulous single vineyard wines from Sárhegy vineyard. Dubicz Sauvignon Blanc is an easy drinking, charming wine typical of the variety. “Wild grasses can be found in its fragrance with a flowering tone and a bit of ripe pears in the background. A well balanced taste with medium body. It is a smooth wine to drink.”
