40 wineries at a glamorous pre-Christmas tasting

Many people say – and it is hard to doubt – that Pécs is the coolest city apart from the capital of Hungary and Pécsi Borozó is the best wine magazine published in the country. The print magazine is sold over Hungary, not only in its home city, Pécs. The team of Pécsi Borozó have decided to move one step further: after several wine contests and local wine tastings they will organize the first grand tasting in the city of Pécs. The event is hosted in the brand new Littke Palace, a glamorous building worthy for the occassion. 4 countries, 15 wine regions, 40 wineries, 120 wines – all this on 8 December. Tasting wines is always a pleasure, but because Christmas is coming, the organizers provide purchasing opportunity within the event as well, with the help of Pannon Borbolt wine shop. The event is an award ceremony as well: 5 top hotels, wineries, restaurants will be awarded by Pécsi Borozó wine magazine. Three wines to try at Advent Wine Saloon

Kristinus Chardonnay
„Medium intensity on the nose with light buttery notes and dried pineapple, vanilla and yellow apple is dominant. On the palate the wine is dry however some gramms of residual sugar or sweetness feeling gives a nice round and longer after taste. Not agressive taste where the yellow apple is significantly dominant with a hint of stewed pear. In the background there are the flavors which have been shown in the nose. Nicely done balanced wine for every day.”

Gere Tamás & Zsolt: Merlot Selection
Father and son works together at this family winery. They are always eager to catch up with duties, busy with being everywhere. „An outstanding wine of the premium wine selection of our winery. A serious wine for serious people. It is characterized by elegance and the richness of details with subtle ornaments.”

Bock Cellar: Bock Syrah
Syrah feels good in the mediterranean Villány wine region, this wine is a great example of this. „A special limited variety from the Bocor vineyard. Part of the selection wine family, following fermentation it is matured in new oak barrels for 18 months. It is characterized by a garnet-red colour tending to black, while in its aroma can be sensed sweet spices, overripe fruit and mint, which are accompanied by chocolate and vanilla achieved by the maturation in new barrels, while in flavour chocolate and vanilla appear alongside overripe fruit.”
