All month – the brand new Thummerer Wine Shop

Probably the most famous, iconic winery of Eger. It was founded in 1984, and the owner, Vilmos Thummerer was awarded the prestigious title „Winemaker of the Year” in 1995, plus the winery won the other most valuable prize: the ’Winery of the Year” in 2011. Their stunning 2,000 sq. meter cellar was once an estate manor, and it was carved out by hand from the volcanic tufa rock. Their Noszvaj restaurant called Magtár Fogadó offers delicious dishes made of local and seasonal ingredients. Plus they have opened their wine shop in Eger recently with all the wines of Thummerer Winery from bottled fermented sparkling wines through brilliant white and red wines to ’pálinkas’.

Address: Eger, Szent János street 5.

Time travel anytime with Kovács Nimród Winery

Time travel with barrels and bottles – this is one of the numorous type of winery visits offered by the 10 year old KNW. „Thematic tasting of one grape variety (eg. Chardonnay, Kékfrankos), or cuvee (eg. Rhapsody, NJK) comparing multiple vintages. With the help of our winemaker, you can go back in time to older vintages, and decide which is closer to your taste: the ripe aromas from the bottle, or the youthful taste from the barrel.
Appointment and check in required!”
