Charity tasting with Nimród Kovács – drink to give in Eger this Saturday!

Nimród Kovács, owner of Kovács Nimród Winery in Eger always has something new and creative in mind. For this Saturday he had planned a picnic in Nyilasmár, one of their most beautiful vineyard. May is the month of outdoor events and picnics, thus the idea looked brilliant…

„God of Rain” had no mercy!

Unfortunately these days’ severe rains have soaked the soil, therefore the planned picnic should be if not cancelled, but altered: the exceptional tasting with special vintages will be held in the spectacular cellar of the winery (Eger, Verőszala street 22.)

The older vintages to be tasted:

• Nimród II 2000 – the flagship cuvée of the winery,
• Battonage Chardonnay 2007 – which was the first vintage of this wine to win gold medal at Chardonnay du Monde,
• Pinot Noir 2007 – again a legendary vintage of the wine.

The profit will be offered to a local music school to buy new musical instruments.

Apart from the old vintages, certainly present vintages are to be tasted as well, A guided cellar tour will be conducted in every hour in the labirynth of the 200 year old cellar. There is no pre-prepared wine list, the organizers will taste with the guests inspired by the moment.
