Concours Mondial de Brusselas is one of the most rigorous international wine competitions. I know, because I participate at the contest every year, so I was there in Guanajuato, and I can assure all the sceptics, that my tasting committee was very strict and knowledgeable, and though only a few wines won medals from us, those ones well deserve their acknowledgements. I did not taste Hungarian wines this time, but I heard the good opinion of my fellow tasters, especially about the wines from Villány.
Hungary entered more than 50 wines this year, only 19 got medals, only 10 of them were awarded gold – proving again the high standards of the contest. (At CMB even the tasters are evaluated. We are tricked every day by receiving one sample twice, and of course this makes us even more alert to concentrate.) Bock Winery receiving so many medals including two gold medals is really a thing!
