Koch wines from Villány win two gold medals in Bergamo

Csaba Koch is an ambitious winemaker with two estates, one in Hajós–Baja wine region and one in Villány. Two premium wines of the latter estate were sent to Bergamo, Italy to participate in the 12th edition of Emozione dal Mondo Merlot e Cabernet insieme.

Both wines – VinArt Cabernet Sauvignon Premium 2012 and VinArt Csanád Cuvée 2012 – won gold medals, and was also awarded the Press Prize.

The winemaker Csaba Koch says that the great results are the consequence of the fabulous terroir, the soil of Diósviszló, and of his unique grape growing philosophy – he leaves more leaves on the vine to enable more photosynthesis, therefore the berries „get more sunshine and so does the wine”. Koch winery was awarded the Best Winery of the Year in 2014.

The award winning wines will be exhibited at Vinitaly, Verona in April, 2017.
