Monde Selection – Hungarian gold medals

Monde Selecton itself is not a wine contest, but a system of evaluating several types of consumer products. Every year 70 international experts taste and test products from all over the world in a completely independent way. Depending on the results, these products will be granted Quality Awards that certify the quality of the products for consumers. On the fringes of the label and quality control activities, Monde Selection organises its International Wine Contest every year in Brussels. The International Wine Contest of Monde Selection is recognised by the European Union and takes place under the control of the General Management – Control and Mediation – of the Federal Public Service Economy.

MondeSelectionCapella – double gold for the melody of wine

This year 15 countries submitted samples, and Hungary is proud to have „only” the top results: 3 wines with 3 gold medals.

Gold medals:

  • Bock Capella Cuvée, Villány, 2011
  • Bock Capella Cuvée, Villány, 2012
  • Besenyei Borház, Egri Kékfrankos, Eger, 2013

Out of the 3 wines 2 belong to the same winery: Bock Cellar in Villány. Capella Cuvée is made only in good vintages, the selected Cabernet Franc and Merlot comes from ’Ördögárok’ (’Devil’s Ditch’) while Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Jammertal vineyard, and the wine is matured in new barrique for 24 months.

Congratulations!
